Yala National Park is Sri Lanka's most popular wildlife park, famous for having one of the highest densities of leopards in the world. Spanning a vast area of dry woodland and open grassy plains, it borders the Indian Ocean, creating a unique ecosystem where you can see wild animals against a backdrop of the sea.

The Leopard Kingdom Yala Block 1 is the prime territory for spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya). An early morning or late afternoon game drive offers the best chance to see these majestic big cats prowling, resting on rocks, or climbing trees.

Biodiversity Galore Beyond leopards, Yala is home to herds of Sri Lankan elephants, sluggish sloth bears, crocodiles, wild boars, spotted deer, and sambar. It is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 200 bird species including peacocks, eagles, painted storks, and flamingos in the lagoons.

The Safari Experience Our Yala safari tours are conducted in rugged 4x4 jeeps with experienced trackers who know the park inside out. They understand animal behavior and will guide you to the best viewing spots while ensuring your safety and respecting the wildlife.
